With the publication in August 2000 of Nemrut from the Air and Zeugma from the Air, Archaeology and Art Publications launched a new series of photo albums devoted to aerial views of Turkey's landscapes, cityscapes, and cultural heritage sites.
Full-color aerial photographs of Mount Nemrut and a statue-by-statue description of King Antiochus of Commegene's royal sanctuary atop the mountain's summit make Nemrut from the Air a unique and informative guide to one of Turkey's most famous monuments. Likewise, Zeugma from the Air's bird's-eye views of 11 ancient Zeugma and its surroundings offer an exceptional pictorial record of this renowned archaeological site which is now almost completely submerged in the reservoir of the Birecik Dam.
