Hailed by Western scholars as the greatest mystical poet of all time, Mevlana skillfuly gilded his verses withmarvelous stories to entertain and educate the reader. It is hard to do justice to him by plucking his stories from his fountain of wisdom like a parrot forced out of his jungle into a cage in a zoo. Yet, is it not better to see a parrot in a zoo than none at all?
