Vocabulary is the fundamental aspect of language teaching, learning, and testing. In addition to the traditional classical methods of measuring vocabulary levels, the Lexical Frequency Profile (LFP), a tool developed by Luafer and Nation (1995), is also used as a new method of measurement. While the LFP has been accepted by some researchers, it has been criticised by others.
As a controversial issue, the LFP needs to be evaluated in terms of its validity and reliability. In this book, the model is reviewed by an award-winning researcher using the meta-analysis method.
